Hamilton Beach FlexBrew Trio 2-Way Coffee Maker, Compatible with K-Cup Pods or Grounds, Combo, Single Serve & Full 12c Pot, Black - Fast Brewing (49902)
The pick

I keep this coffee maker because it makes coffee easy to have. That sounds plain, but that is really the point. I do not always want to mess with a big routine in the morning, and I do not always want the same amount of coffee either, so having one machine that does a single cup or a full pot covers most of the day without making me think about it too hard.

The reason I recommend it is simple: it gives you options without turning coffee into a project. If I want one cup, I can use a pod and be done with it. If I want a pot, I can use grounds and brew a full batch. That flexibility is what makes it useful in a real kitchen, especially when the day does not look the same every morning. Some days I only need one mug. Other days I know I am going to want more than that, and I like not having to switch machines or set out extra gear.

It also fits the kind of person who wants coffee to be one less thing to manage. If you live alone, share a kitchen, or just do not want to waste time fussing with a complicated setup, this kind of coffee maker makes sense. The single-serve side is quick, and the pot side is there when you want to make enough for a longer stretch at home. That is a better use of counter space than keeping two separate machines around.

I will say the one thing that takes a little getting used to is that it is not the smallest footprint. A combo machine like this is still a combo machine, so it takes up more room than a basic drip maker or a tiny single-serve unit. In a tight kitchen, that matters. You also have to pay attention to which side you are using, and that can feel a little clunky the first few times until it becomes second nature. It is not a dealbreaker, just part of having a machine that tries to do both jobs.

In my own routine, that tradeoff has been worth it. I like being able to walk in, decide whether I want one cup or a pot, and get on with the day. It has the kind of everyday convenience that you stop noticing because it saves you time in small ways over and over again. That is usually what I want from a coffee maker anyway.

I would recommend this to anyone who wants coffee to be easy without giving up the choice between single-serve and a full pot. If your mornings change from day to day, or if you just want one machine that can handle both a quick mug and a few extra cups, this one does the job well.
